Uh ya but really the police should do that!

but anyways here it goes….

“Schools should be able to punish students for taking drugs over the weekend because it will affect their academic performance. Drugs will damage the students brain and will leave them feeling as if they haven’t slept. This would then, in thus, affect their studies. Students should have to go to the school (forgot what to call em) shrink and deal with the problem in a light way. If the problem persists the person should be suspended until further help is achieved”

Ok my wrist hurts I’m gonna stop…..

Hope I helped ya!

I work for a school system, and I know that anything the student does 100% OFF school grounds the school can do nothing about, except shake their heads in disbelief. HOWEVER, if the students behavior continues once he/she reaches school property, THEN the schools can punish. In the case of taking drugs, it can be Out of school suspension, In school suspension as well as reporting it to police, which means it would go on a juvi record and the student would have to go to court.

Personally I don’t think the school has any right to punish students for what they do on weekends. Obviously if its on school grounds or during a school event that’s different. That being said if you HAVE to make an argument for it, I guess you could say that students who behave inappropriately outside of school damage the reputation of the school and can be punished for that.

If it is done on school property or during a school event, then yes. Otherwise, they should be able to punish students who do this if they exhibit bad behaviour during school hours as a result of their drug use outside of the school.

In other words, anytime the actions of a student creates a harmful environment for other students or the faculty of a school, whether it is done during school hours or not, then the school has some right to intervene in some way.

Hmm… It’s hard to say because we are in different society. At least here, taking drugs is really a big “no”. If that happens here that taking drugs is very rampant. The school can ofcourse do some actions about it and coordinate with parents or authority. I guess that will be a very big help to lower drug abuse rate or even crimes.

It doesn’t matter on the weekends! Its not the schools business unless your in private school since they only accept certain students. It matters on the weekdays! My high school takes inspection & brings dogs at each classroom for 3 min if anyone has drugs then they leave. The kids usually go to the principals office or sometimes they just take it away from you.
