Should i take both AP English classes next year?

I was just thinking about it. Do you need the information from one of the classes to take the other?

If you’re a junior, take one this year and one next year. They don’t build off of each other so take which ever one you want. If you’re a senior, i would still only take one this year.

Well in my highschool there was AP Lit and AP Writing, basically the AP Writing consisted of writing writing and more writing, while the Lit class was made up of reading a couple novels and then writing about them. However it varies according to the teachers and their styles of teaching. The AP Writing class at my school was basically an easy A for those students who wanted some AP credit, while the Lit class (which is what i took) was more for the students who enjoyed reading a bit more than writing. I would definitely say that at my school, it was very possible to take both at once, since both classes consisted of the same type of work, however like i said, you really need to know who your teachers are.

Never heard of two AP English classes being offered during the same year. Taking AP English, science,& math classes the same year, sure, but not a double of one subject.

My advice would be NO… if they’re anything like the AP classes in our district. There’s TONS of reading & writing. I think one would be more than enough work to ace!

Is there more to the course description than just AP English? There is only one at our high school.

Perhaps one focuses on American lit and the other on British or other genre. I don’t imagine that you need info from one to take the other. You will just be doing a hell of a lot of reading and writing.
