I know its easier said than done, but allow yourself not to think about it so much. I used to be the exact same way; I was so distracted thinking about everyone else in the room that I couldnt focus on the words! Just stay calm and you’ll be fine.
Just remember that, even if you happen to slip up, no one else will remember. You are truly your biggest critic.

If you are a good reader then you will just have to try to calm your nerves. Focus on what you are reading, try to predict what you will be asked to read if possible and read ahead. If it really a problem ask you teacher (after class) if they can assign your part so you will know what you will be reading and can read over it first.
Personally I hate this method. Most students don’t listen very long and I feel its unfair to make students feel put on the spot or embarrassed. I teach 1st grade so reading is a HUGE part of what we do. I always ask for students who want to read. Even if someone is not following along I will quietly mention it to them.
Good Luck

Concentrate only on the words and take your time while you are reading. It’s not a contest or competition. I was nervous as reader too, but once i toned out everyone and just read for myself I was fine.

I think if you practice reading out loud and then when you are in class slow down, don’t rush through your reading allow your brain to register what you are reading. My husband is a preacher and I tell him all the time to slow down when he reads the passage from the Bible. It allows the listener to register what you are saying. The reason most people tune out is because it is not registering properly.

you don’t have to say the sentence like it’s written. you can twist the sentence, but must still have the same meaning. and just imagine ppl in underwear
