Kids don’t become bad because they just become bad. They are reacting to their parents’ bad behavior and then get put on Ritalin. If you are the reason your kid is bad (and you’ll have to answer that yourself) then for god’s sake, don’t punish HIM.

Are you pushing him too hard? Do you belittle him or make him feel bad about who he is? If you do then that could be one of the reasons he has taken up with “bad boys.” Like the other poster I would say that something is going on in his life where he needs your attention, positive attention. If all he ever hears is how bad he is then he is sure as hell going to show you just how bad he can be. Pay attention. Talk to him. Take him to a counselor or social worker and get individual help, and family help. I am a former HS guidance counselor and currently teach special education.

Explain first what you mean by “bad”. And putting him in some other school is not going to solve any problems. If you’re an “unworthy father” find out why and try to work it out. That’s only way you’re going to help your boy.
