Again I do not know how safe or unsafe your school may be and I do not want to worry you. The above are just some general precautions that you should take.

yes, the school is safe. It has gotten better the last couple of years. It is unfortunate everybody assumes Philly is such a terrible place, but often they are not that familiar with the city itself. The school has some good resources for you that can help you as well. Get to know the security guards when you get in the building, same with the people in the main office. The leaqd counselor is good, and there are a variety of resources in the school that can help. just get to know some people and you’ll be fine. I do think the idea of not hanging out everywhere after school may be a good one until you get more familiar with the school. No matter where you go there are issues in the schools, just get involved with something you want to do at the schoola nd get to know some people, and it will be fine. I know there is extra help around the counselor’s offices, and it wil never hurt to poke your head in and talk to somebody there about it.
