is it really neccessary to go to a specialized high school rather than a normal one with performances upto99%?

like can you still get into one of the most presitigous(sorry for spelling error) universities and amazing colleges.

Does it matter because I still take alot of extracurricular activities!

I need some serious and alot of answers today, guys and gals. also please be detailed…thanks

I just graduated from a public high school and our valedictorian is going to Princeton. other schools kids are going to/were accepted at are Yale, Wesleyan, Boston College, Boston University, Tulane, Smith, Simmons, American University, UConn, Tufts, Northeastern, Brown and so many others. I think my school was great but its not nationally recgonized or anything, its just a regular high school. I think what matters is if you work hard to get good grades and a good GPA. Take honors and AP courses where ever you go to show colleges that you challenge yourself. Also, if you go to a normal public school there are kids on all levels so if you acoomplish great things you are more likely to stand out then at a school where everyon is a super smart over-achiver. Extracurriculars are great but they say to not overload on them, just do the ones you are passionate about instead of joining a bunch of clubs just to fill up your resume. Remember that getting into a good college is important, but also have fun in H.S!

umm no i dont think it matters, i live in nyc and usually the specialized high schools only accept ppl depending on their shsat grade, but i personally think that going to a normal high school would make u look smarter if ur already smart, and as long as ur average is up im positive a good college will accept u
