Is it normal to have few classes in your Senior year of High School?

I got my schedule for High School today and I only have 4 classes, 3 if you want to get technical. I have an English, History, Science, and then a Sport.

They say that your senior year is easiest, but is this typical?

it depends on your school.

Yes this is pretty common. Many high schools only require 3 math’s and 3 science’s. Many students have something called “apprenticeship” for the other half of the day where they are supposed to go work, but most of my friends just went home and went to sleep.

If you want to take it easy and have earned then it is fine. But if you are planning on getting into a good college slacking off your senior year will only hurt you. Take some college level courses if you can and if you have any AP classes they would help.

My high school only required government/economics and PE the last year. The rest was electives (if you wanted them). You might want to do something either to keep yourself busy or you can fill your time in with a college class or two to get a jump on it if you plan on going to college.

I’m going to be a senior too and I chose to take it easy this year. My school requires that you take at least 6 classes each year (you can take up to 8), so I am only taking 6 and they’re mostly easy ones 🙂

It is if you only need a few more credit hours to graduate.

Congratulations to you. It sounds like it should be an easy school year for you!

Yes, but it’s not smart if you want to go to a good college. They look to see if your schedule continues to be challenging. I’d add at least one more solid, especially an AP if possible.

yes, it all depends what you did the first three years. if you took alot of the need credits before hand, your senior classes are just the ones you need to complete for graduation.
