Is it hard to skip 7th grade or do I need to stay where I am?
Favorite Answer
I would not encourage it because 7th and 8th grade are all about maturing as a person, and starting high school a year younger is challenging because everyone else really is more mature. Another option is to convince your parents to enroll you in community college enrichment classes. That way you have social time with people your age (school), and a chance to get your intellectual needs met.
If you are 100% sure you want to skip 7th–get your parents’ support, meet with the principal, prove you can do the work, prove you are mature for your age, and be ready to tackle the extra challenges of being the youngest and probably smallest.
Congrats on the great grades!!!
My son had the opportunity to skip and we said no. he will be just as smart when he gets there and he will have an easy time through school. I’m OK with that and so is he. the only benefit to skipping is saying you did.
