Hey there. Doesn’t it suck that our future is based on a stupid GPA. GPA ‘s doesn’t measure how great of a student you are, it measures your scores and crap. You could be a wonderful student….but suck at tests..thus making your GPA lower. Anyhow, to answer your question. It all depends on what you are going to use your GPA for. If you are going to apply for colleges..most colleges asks for a 3.0 or higher as a basic requirement. However, don’t get your hopes down if you aren’t able to raise your GPA by next semester when you should hopefully start applying for colleges. Only SOME college requires that….there are those that ask for a 2.5 or higher. Besides, many of them look at everything else in addition to your GPA, such as the entrance essay you write (if its required), your previous classes, your extra-curriculum activities, and your SAT and ACT scores. However, suppose you want to apply for scholarships. Many of them are academic based, and quite a few asks for a GPA for 3.0 or higher. SO, even though you don’t have too, it might be best for you to try to raise your GPA that 0.1% or higher. 3.0 is a good solid one!

If you plan on going to college…no. Unless you have super high sat scores, that gpa makes you just like every other average joe that applied.

I would suggest studying everynight…sounds awful, I know. But even if you spend just 15 minutes for each subject, the repitition will help you retain more information. Also, it has been proven that if you take a nap after studying, it helps you remember more.

You still have a year and 3/4 to bring it up. Though the beginning of your 12th grade year is usually when you apply for colleges, I suggest applying to many. That way, if you don’t get into your first choice, you can go to another college, bring your grades up, then apply to transfer to your first choice.

If your GPA is based on a 3.0 scale then yes…. if it’s based on a 4.0 scale, then it’s ok…..

High school is much easier than college. Students are not suppose to be average. 2.9 on a 4.0 scale is a high C. I went to pretty decent schools and most people always wanted at least a B average.(3.0+)

Strive to be the best. You need to do well now because it depends on your college acceptance. TRY HARD and you will do GOOD

I was a freshman in college with a 2.8/4.0 and when I was interviewed for a summer job, the guy cringed at my gpa. Hope this answers your question. If you’re planning on working – dont mention your gpa, if you’re planning on going to school, Kaplan has a great SAT prep-course. Plus you have 12th grade to bring it up – tutors always help. Good luck

it depends on whether or not u want to get into a really good school. With that GPA u might not have a variety of options and places to go. School jus started so uhave a little while to try to get it up jus keep ur head in the books and you will be ok

Depends on what you want to do after high school. College vs Work, and then even which college you go to.

Based on the fact that you seem not to know the difference between “a” and “an,” I’d say for you it’s on the high side.
