MY BABY CUZZIN DOESNT WANT TO TAKE FOREIGN LANGUAGE DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR ,FOR SHE FEELS IT A WASTE OF ELECTIVE.

BUT IF SHE DOES TAKE A FOREIGN LANUAGE EVERY SUMMER AT THE COMM. COLLEGE DURING THE SUMMER; WOULD IT STILL COUNT? OR WOULD SHE HAVE TO TAKE IT AT SCHOOL TOO?

It would depend on the state requirements. In many states you can’t take college classes that count as “dual enrollment” until the summer after your 10th grade year. Talk to your school guidance counselor and find out what your state requirements are.

A Spanish class is not a waste of elective. Most universities want their students to have at least two years of a foreign language on their transcripts. Also knowing Spanish can help you in many ways due to the increase of Spanish speaking people in our country. You can be a tutor for students in your school who are having difficulty due to language problems, volunteer to help in local ESL classes, and many employers want workers (especially in management positions) who speak Spanish.

Yes. Check with your local community college. If they have a K-12 Program at the college, you can take Spanish, but usually you can only get college credit. You wouldn’t get high school credit. Check it out first before you enroll in any college classes. Good luck!
