How can i rephrase this?

When a person reads a poem they have to grasp the soul of the poem to feel the aroma of it.

i feel i dn’t need to say poem 2 times.

thanks!

A person should never just “read’ a poem. Instead, the person must feel, experience, and embrace the words to grasp its soul and therefore intuitively understand its purposeful creation.

To be able to grasp the soul of a poem , a person must be able to sense the aroma !

You will read poetry, read books and look at a masterpiece paintings, and each time you read that poem or book or observe that painting …it will have added meaning and understanding.

Poetry and other art forms may be judged by there layers of meaning. I believe the more ‘layers’, the more expressive the art.

I don’t want to be mean, but that’s really corny.

don’t try to put so many ‘deep words’ into your statement. Just say what you mean, ok?

Also, I’m a grammar Nazi.. “a person” is never “they” “a person” is “he” or “she”

Can you just use yourself instead of a generic person?

to aviod poem twice, use its (possessive), or ‘it’ to pre-refer to the poem you’ll mention in a few words. (ie, when I kicked *it*, the cat ran away)
