On students being tired: American schools are cutting back on a lot of break time during the school day. It’s just bam bam bam, class after class with a short lunch somewhere in there. Of course, this could be different depending on the schools, but all I’ve been to in America are like that. When I lived overseas, the schools seemed to have a lot more breaks. One in the morning, one for lunch, and perhaps one near the end of the day. And this adds to how long the day is which is why there is the hour and a half discrepency. Probably. Personally, I think that is better.

On activity clubs – Yeah, they -should-. It doesn’t necessarily mean they will. Most kids I knew didn’t really do anything after school that wasn’t considered just hanging out with friends.
