They like you to be real. So, go in dressed like a slob and cuss a lot. It would probably help if you were drunk too. Be like cut the crap, am I getting the job or not? then have a nice drunk cry with them about how bad your life sucks and you really need this job. then wipe your snotty nose and tears on his lapel. Yeah that might work.

Glad to help. A first interview is always exciting and challenging. It is good that you are looking ahead and want to do well.

Dress properly. No tee shirts, sneakers or showing of body piercing and be well groomed.

Do not use slang or slouch.

Greet the interviewer and at the end thank him for the opportunity to be interviewed and considered. Send a well written brief note a few days after the interview.

Be prepared to answer or to volunteer certain information? Why do you like science? What science courses have you taken? Did you do any science projects. be positive about your school and your teachers? Have some examples ready about why you found science to be fun? What experience do you have with young students? Have you ever persuaded a child to do something?

Learn whatever you can about the company that may employ you. Sometimes the internet is a good source.

Good luck.

First of all ….don’t be nervous. If you are nervous you will forget what you want to say and will forget your answers. Remember that whom ever you are having the interview with at one time sat in the same seat that you will be in. Try to answer all of the questions truthfully. Most people that are doing an interview can tell when someone is lying. Try to be calm, be truthfull and be very attentive. Dress the part. If you are interviewing for an office job, then wear nice clothing like you would wear to church. If you are interviewing for a job at Home Depot, then dress in casual jeans and a nice shirt. Think about where you are going to be interviewing at and think about how they would dress there and then you will know how to dress. Always be prepared!!!!! I can’t stess that enough. Make sure that you have a resume with you and that you have all the information that you would need to fill out an application. You would be suprised at how many people do not go prepared to fill out an application or to answer questions on simple things that they should know. Be prepared to be able to answer questions that might pertain to how you would handle certain situations should they arise. Also, be prepared to have a conversation with your interviewer about previous jobs and work ethics. Never, Never, Never berate or talk bad about previous employers, employee’s etc. Above all, be pleasant and cheerful and enjoy the interview! …..Good Luck!

Wear something a little Conservative but not older than you are, Tell them how much you enjoy working with children, and you believe children are a blessing. If they ask you about discipline, timeouts and explaining why they are in trouble are good answers. Tell them you think children should be taught how special they are, and with all the confidence we can instill in them.

Relax, it’s not that bad, and just be yourself, remember to smile and thank the interviewer for their time when the interview is over. You’ll do great, they know you’re nervous!

Hi there !

I’m 38 now so have been to a few job interviews..

Things that have been taught to me and questions that generally come up :-

Don’t sit down until they ask you.

Even if you feel nervous try to come across confident and interested in the job.

They always ask why they should employ you – try to have something prepared even if its a load of waffle.

They always ask you your strong /weak points that can catch you out if you haven’t got something prepared.

At the end of the interview your always asked if theres anything you’d like to ask them – I was always taught to ask something / anything as it shows you willing and interested.

Just relax and try to enjoy it

Good luck

Wear something nice and appropriate, look up information and ideas online, you could also look at typical interview questions, and ways to make science fun. Make sure you have the names, numbers (and sometimes addresses) of references, both personal and professional (a teacher or employer who would have nice things to say about you) and most importantly (and the hardest one of all) don’t be nervous!
