Those programs are great by giving you more interesting things to do and learn.

However, know that hard work gets you into a good college, not “talent” or “genius.” Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration, quoth Thomas Edison.

While I never actually took a PreAP-GT course, I am currently taking a Pre AP Spanish class, as well as an AP Statistics class and AP Biology class. AP, or advanced placement, is a course level for high schoolers. It is designed to be the equivalent of a college course. The entire curriculum is designed around an end of the year exam which you get a score between 1 and 5 on. If you get a five, that means you scored at least a 60 (that might depend on the class, though, it definitely is for my AP Stats class.) a four or a five are excellent and and 3 is also very very good. Colleges like to see that students have challenged themselves and applied themselves, and, depending on the exam score and the college, you can actually place out of certain classes in college, and get credit for them. I know a girl that graduated early from high school and had enough AP credits to place out of her freshman year of college.

It is made to prepare you for the harder courses you should take in high school. It doesn’t necessarily mean you are “smarter” than the ones in the regular classes, it just means that you are able to apply yourself better.

In high school, you will come across classes called AP classes. These classes are made to prepare you for AP exams that can help you get college credit for your class if you get certain scores on them.

So, here’s the chain:

Pre-AP prepares you for AP classes.

AP classes prepare you for AP exams.

See?

So, yes it is a very good thing to take and to do well in.

It will help prepare you for Ap and High school, but colleges only care about your 10-12… So do well and build your skills so that you can do good in high school
