Let your hair grow out for the next 2 months, then go to a decent haircutting place right before school starts, see what styles they recommend.
Lost some weight or gain some muscle, you can change your shape with 2 months of hard work.
Take care of your skin! whether its sunscreen or a visit to a dermatologist.
Last but not least – stop being so hard on yourself! You are not supposed to be your worst critic. Everyone has positives that they overlook about themselves. Try and find a couple of things you like about yourself and play them up.

Believe it or not everyone in 7th and 8th grade hates the way they look. Everyone wants to look like someone else and everyone is envious of the people they think are the best looking. Unfortunately, the people who you consider to be good looking do not always think they are good looking. It is part of being young. Your body and appearance is changing and will continue to do so until you are in your late teens or early twenties. It is going to be a long ride that will seem slow. There are some things you can control like hairstyle, cleanliness, and dress. If you are a girl do not go crazy with the make-up that is a mistake that too many early teens make. Keep your clothing appropriate. If you are overweight you can start to practice better eating habits. That is a good idea even if you do not have a weight problem. Make sure you get plenty of sleep and exercise. That will reflect itself in your attitude, your muscle tone and your overall appearance. Avoid the “quick fix” ideas that are promoted by advertisers who want your money and not your well being. Talk to your family doctor about physical issues you may have like complexion. Talk to your parents and siblings. Mostly love yourself for who you are. Once you leave the stress of how you look behind you may find you really like the person who lives in your body.

99% of the kids hate the way they look, too. Try to dress to fit in, try to have your hair so you fit in and don’t draw attention. Later, when you are more comfortable, you can express your individuality.

aquaman, believe it or not, you should start to exercise. It will make you feel a lot better about yourself.
Otherwise, just be yourself, in the long run you will be happier you did.

One of the easiest things to do is get a new hairdo (plus, if you don’t like it, you can always grow it back out).

You should just be yourself. If you care too much about how you look you won’t be able to have fun. Just be yourself and make friends.

Look at somebody else who is a lot uglier and then you won’t feel so bad.
