How to get motivated to do things with my life?
I’ve been wasting time for the last 5 years of my life in junior/Senior high school. My grades have been pretty mediocre throughout and maybe above average, at times in junior high. But I really have no idea what I want to do. I know I can get into a lot of colleges, not ivy league, but right at this moment when I should be applying I’m wasting my time. My parents are setting me up with a doctor because I’ve been depressed my high school year for being teased, not fitting in, and things similiar to this. I still want to do as well as other people my age though and it’s kind of fustrating how bad I’m failing at it. I’m 17 going on 18 this year and still: never driven/don’t have my permit, never had a job, didn’t join any clubs in school, didn’t do any sports( not too fond of them). I do have to go through a lot more than most people though: I’m a gay, black male with a bad case of social anxiety and maybe even selective autism, but still none of those things should stop me from living.

Hi AnonymousUntilNowMuaha. Well first of congratulations on making this far in life. Reading the shot snippet of your life I’ve seen you struggled through a lot and I know this might sound clique but we’ve all went through the same process. Every now and then people would think to themselves “What the hell am I doing?”. I’m 19 and I remember during that time I’ve been through the same thing. I was shy, medicoure and the wierd kid to be picked on in middle school because i transferred from a private school. I moved a lot during my life because my parents were divorce and transferred to many different schools. I’ve never been motivated and my parents weren’t a source of motivation and had very little friends. It wasn’t till freshman year where everything came together as I realize I’m living my life for the betterment of others. I became more sociallable and lifes been pretty good to me for now =p. I guess my biggest motivation is my Mom’s struggle to keep us a float as a single mother and my friends who I can call to talk to. I guess my advice to you is “who are you living for?” my answer would be my family find out yours and then you begin to see. I’m also study to become an educational counselor when I was inspired by a T.V show of abused girls from there parents and that struck me that I’m living to help others. So good luck in your search I’m sure eventaully you will see the light =p.
