Well know that the stories you are hearing are usually blown out of proportion (in the case of movies) or a very rare thing. Everyone is freaked out about freshman year, heck I’m nervous to see my schedule and I’m a junior. Not having classes with your friends really isn’t a big deal. Chances are you’ll have assigned seats and be no where near them even if you did. Even so its not like you can socialize with your friends in class, if anything it might make it harder to have friends in your class. Its tempting to talk with your friends when you’re bored in class, but the teacher never seems to find it quite as fun as you do. You may not see them often because of your schedule, but just talk for a bit before class and after school and you’ll be fine.

whats it like? High school is what you make of it. It can be a really great time if you just get involved with a club or a team. There are people that really hate high school, but i’d wager most of them didn’t get involved or attend any of the games.

Whats going to happen? You will get lost, its pretty much inevitable. I even got lost my sophmore year, so its not just freshman. Just ask another student or a teacher. I’ve never had an upperclassman give me wrong directions, but if you don’t feel comfortable then just ask a teacher. typically for the first few days there will be teachers outside their doors to help.

Academic wise: Well that all depends on the level of the class and the teacher. Thats something you’ll find out over the course of the first quarter, some teachers will be difficult, others not much harder than your last year.

Best of luck, just relax and try not to panic.

High school really isn’t that bad at all. It goes so fast…I can’t believe that I am already halfway done. Don’t listen to any stories that you have heard. I was so freaked out going into freshman year, but it wasn’t anything like I had seen in the movies or anything like that it is really low key so just relax. You’ll make other friends in your other classes. I didn’t have any friends in my classes, and you’ll probably have lunch with your friends. I didn’t really find it that hard at all. if you’ve done with thus far, i’m sure you’ll do fine. Don’t be afraid of the upperclassmen, they won’t bother you if you don’t bother them.

just be yourself and you will be ok..and enjoy it the next four years of your life is going to fly by..and this is a good opportunity to make more friends, once you get by the first 2-3 weeks you will be ok..and i bet you will have some classes with your friends…the core courses. English, Science, Math, History are usually seperated..(you wont have many Seniors taking Freshman English)

mainly the elective classes has a mix of students

good luck and enjoy..and do your best

i was to the samew way many years ago

I can remember my first year in high school! I was so nervous and excited at the same time. Luckily my school was split up because it was so huge, so i only went to school with 9th and 10th graders si i didnt have to deal with seniors but i suggest you just stay out of their way unless they talk to you. but the only advice i can really give you is just relax! go in there with a good additude and be open to everyone around you! you never know by being friendly to someone you might befriend the most popular person and not even know it! or you just stay close to your friends and they’ll help you through all four years Good luck and have fun!

It’s just normal school. The classes can be a bit challenging at time, but just keep up on your homework and don’t slack off. Get on your teacher’s good side as well. They’re the ones who do your grades, so make them like you. : ) You’ll be fine. Get involved in some clubs and activities as well. Always shoot for straight A’s. You may not get it, but at least you will have tried and that’s what counts.

Don’t listen to those stories….high school is great! It’s only as bad as you make it. Just keep your head held high, make new friends, and just be cool. The work gets harder, but it’s not like they’re going to be testing you at a college level. You’ll also get more homework, but you’ll be alright. Good luck and have a great first day!
