I am friends with at least one person in the majority of the ‘cliques’ and groups at my school
The way to make friends is just be yourself, be respectful to other peoples beliefs, ideas and opinions. Don’t try hard to be someones friend, then they use you. Your question is a hard one to answer and only after years of not having very many friends did I 1. start showering, brushing my teeth & the like, 2. not have to be right all the time and 3. Be respectful to people and in general not a jerk to people because I was mad at the world

You could try joining a club or group, like choir or band or yearbook, maybe the computer club. Something that you like, there should be plenty to choose from. It’s a start – a way to get to know some people.

Try joining a team cheerleading, tennis, football… whatever. You can find people you have things in common with if you do sports and stuff. This won’t happen overnight. But be kind to everyone. And people will see you as a cool kid.
