A little advice: GED’s are not favorible among employers, though they are accepted. Think about it. If it came down to you who gave up and dropped out of highschool and to someone who perservered through highschool and got a diploma, who would the employer hire? Believe me. You wouldn’t even be considered over the other person.

How do I know? I’ve observed the application process with my boss once. The reasoning behind this is: the person quit school when it got “too difficult.” So, why should I think that same person won’t quit on me when it gets difficult on the job? Then, he tore up the application and threw it away.

Right or wrong…. it is the truth. Bottom line…. Get your diploma!

Wow. What a shame. What a waste. How could you possibly think a GED would be just as good. For all the years you spent in school, you’re going to blow it at the end? Why bother with a GED . . .

It makes me wonder; why is that one feels a HS diploma isn’t important enough to finish out the last year or two of school – after spending over a decade in school – but they will rush right out to get GED. Really, why get the GED; I thought diploma wasn’t important.

Whew.

why would you want to do that? Are you looking forward to a life on welfare, public aid and food stamps? Because that is where you will end up…..and I dont want my tax dollars supporting your lazy, ignorant asss. Not a good idea! I would hire an applicant with a high school diploma before a GED recipient. You can also ask any college counselor the same for getting into a good school….it is different (a GED) and you will learn more in school it will effect everything from your credit rating, to insurance rates….. but I’m sure at your age (16?17?) you know better……LOL

As far as I know, you have to be 16 to withdraw from school. But you may also want to check the requirements for getting a GED in your state. In most states you have to be 18, although some let you take it at 17.

Depends on the state you live in. Some states have age requirements for dropping out.

Why do you want your GED instead of an education? Do you think you have learned all you will learn? Are you desperate to work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for the rest of your life at barely above minimum wage?
