It’s actually “GPA”, and the way I learned it was like this: For every ‘A’ u get 4 points, for every ‘B’ u get 3 points, for every ‘C’ u get 2 points, for every ‘D’ u get 1 point, and nothing for below that. So add up all ur A’s, B’s, etc. using this format. Then divide what u get by the total number of classes u have (including if u get F’s). Hope it helps!

All you have to do is add together your grades and divide by the number of classes.
Here is what each grade is worth unless it is honors then add 1 to each number.
A=4— C+=2.33— D-=.65
A-=3.65— C=2— E-=0.00
B+=3.33 — C-=1.65
B=3— D+= 1.33
B-=2.65— D=1
So if you have six classes then divide your total by 6.

It depends what kind of classes you are taking, and how [and if] they are weighted. Do you know this information? If not, you might want to go to your guidance counselor and ask him/her about your GPA and how everything is weighted. If you don’t know how classes are weighted, you can’t figure out your GPA.
For example, in my school, the grades are weighted like so: [The follow is for a ‘100’ in the class]
AP: 5.0
Honors: 4.5
Standard: 4.0
Basic: 3.5
