How can I be a GREAT 4th grade classroom aide?
I just started this new job. I have been an aide for kindergarten before, but 4th grade is new to me. I want the children to repect me, but I also want them to enjoy class. Also, any ideas on how to be more helpful to the teacher? It gets kind of boring.

Be available and willing to do what the teacher asks you to do. Support the teacher in her decisions. If you disagree with a decision the teacher makes, don’t discuss it in front of the students.
Students respect teachers and assistants who respect them. Don’t abuse the authority you have been given, but don’t be lenient either.
If you think the job is boring maybe you are in the wrong position.
