I am in college and when i was in high school i was known as the GEEK.to be completely honest with u , gossip is completly pointless and only hurts peoples feelings. college is alot better u meet more people that are like you and like the things you do and are alot more mature.So try to make friends with people that like the things you do. I was apart of my school basketball team and i made alot of friends.Well i hope this helps and dont listen to gossip it will get you nowhere in life.

College is better in this aspect because the students have less time to gossip, and the cliques (groups of friends) aren’t as “tight” as they are in high school. You don’t have to try hard to make friends. Just study hard, because when your performance is exceptional, people will gravitate to you naturally. Don’t forget to smile at the gossips – this always throws them off guard.

yes! it gets so much better! you can go to class in pj’s and a ponytail and not one person cares! you’ll have an easier time with gossiping…but people always gossip! it will be easy to make friends with the classes you’re in…everyone else is in the same boat…at a new school and wanting to meet new friends. most of the classes you take will be of more interest to you and will be more of a focused study. for example…i was an english major and had mostly english classes. the people i had in class had this common interest so it was easy to make friends 🙂 good luck with the rest of your high school year…hope i helped a little bit 🙂

I had a much better experience in college than in high school. I went to a big university where there were so many different groups, and I found my niche pretty easily.

try joining a club or something. like drama. if the school doesnt offer anything do what i do. i’ll go talk to one of my friends’ friends. that and i always find it easier to talk to people when i have an original friend by my side.

oh and no worries. i hate most of the people at my school. its not an uncommon feeling.
