The first thing is don’t try to be popular. It dosen’t look good at all, and you’ll find a lot of backstabbers if you try to be somebody that you are not. I would say join a few clubs that intrest you, probably no more than three. Speak up in classes, but don’t be overly eager. Try running for student council and see what your classmates want. Don’t discriminate against anyone. Be a nice sociable person, and be someone that people are willing to trust.

I totally agree with Tiffy, being “popular” is not what high school is all about. The movies and media put that in kids heads.

Try running for an office position and be friendly to everyone and that will make you popular. Don’t try to be the “preppy” cheerleading girls in movies because the popular kids usually do end up doing the illegal things from pressure, it’s not good.

well from what i have seen..most people who are popular in high school…are pretty (although you dont need to be pretty to be popular), outspoken, confidence, fashionable, friendly (although not all were), and not shy. Just think of celebrities…they are kind of the popular people in our society right? they dress nice, pretty, not shy, funny, etc.

I advise you to join a sport. if you are a girl…try maybe cheerleading. if you are a guy…try football, basketball, etc.

Make friends in class, dont follow the other popular people around or try to talk to them..because they will think youre weird..they will talk to you.

But honestly..being popular is not so great..beacuse sooner or later you will be pressured to do things that are illegal..or just not good for you at your age. Trying running for president, treasury..that can also bring popularity. Be friends with everyone and dont judge other people because they arent popular. Make decisions on your own and treat everyone the same. good luck

What is the importance of being popular? Do you want to be known and friendly with everyone? That is impossible. High school is a big place. It is impossible to be friendly with everyone. What you can do is go into school and be yourself. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be disrespectful and don’t afraid to stand out. Wouldn’t it be more inportant to be popular with a few people you get along well with, than with a lot of mediocre people whom you can’t trust? And don’t worry, you’ll meet a lot a new people. The friends you make will know other people and you will get to know them too.

Get involved. Especialy in things that interest you. Be your self…I know you probably hear that all the time but it’s true. People can tell if you’re trying to be something/one you are not. People dont wanna be friends with a fake.

be nice to the less fortunate-the poorer kids, the handicapped or any kids that may not have many friends. people will notice if you treat everyone with respect and that will make you cool!
