high school?

how would you describe it? i’m going to attend high school this year and i am pretty darn freaked out. Many people tell me it isn’t scary as i think it would be, but i’m not really convinced. To be more specific, i’m going to patrick henry high in san diego. its pretty big, much bigger than my middle school. I’m wondering how people would treat you and how would you compare middle school to high school. =D

High School isn’t too scary. Just try to be nice to everybody and join a club or two that you think you’d be really good in. Joining a club makes things easier. People are usually too busy with their business to worry about other kids, so you don’t have to worry about getting shoved in a locker or something. The best advice I can give you is make a couple of good friends and don’t do stuff to give people a reason to dislike you.

As for the school side of high school. Be nice to your teachers and pay attention in class. If you study and do things well, then you should get decent marks- ask for help if you need it and ask questions. That doesn’t mean suck up to teachers though- kids hate that. They are there to teach you , and you are there to learn. Simple! 🙂

Good luck.

Well in high school, things are a lot bigger. Like the students, teachers, and buildings. You also get more homework than junior high but don’t let that get you down. Millions of students like you are entering high school for the first time. And it can be scary. But just relax. Just be yourself and you can make some life-long friendships. You can make some friends by joining in some after school clubs and sports. And also just by talking to the person beside of you. You can compliment on something they have to strike up a conversation. Also, in high school, you know you have more homework than junior high. So be prepared to do that. Be organized and don’t procrastinate. Doing that will make you feel behind in your classes and you can’t catch up. Just pay attention to your teacher’s lectures, take good notes, and do your homework first before crashing onto the computer. Have a schedule with you or a to-do list. Prioritized your things and tackle big assignments one at a time. And have some fun too. High school is one of the best years of your life. Make it like that and you will enjoy high school.

When I was a sophomore last year, I was scared too. Hey I was the shortest person in my high school. But I got used it and now, I’m used to being around taller people.

good luck!

high school really is not that bad. i am going to be a senior this year. most people are really nice. keep in mind that on your first day, it is EVERYONE’S first day. for everyone in the freshman class, it is they’re first time on the campus. for the upperclassmen, it is still the first day. many people will get lost the first day, and the teachers will understand if you are a couple minutes late to your class. if you need help, just ask someone. middle school really is not all that different from high school. the only main difference is the amount of people. good luck!

i remember my first day of high school, i was pretty scared at first cuz my high school was like one thousand times bigger than my middle school….buh in the end high school is much better than middle you have more freedom, get to meet soo many new people, more than one teacher (so if u have one bad teacher chances are your other teachers are better) and the overall experience is soo much better btw im goin to grade 11 🙂

the only bad thing i would say abt high school is that the studies get a bit tougher in terms of the amount of homework you get
