Has being a Sylvan Learning Center student benefited your academic performance?
If you have completed a lot of hours at Sylvan Learning Center (200+, for example), or have stopped going to Sylvan, I want to know how well the experience benefited you in school, work, etc.
The main issue I see with Sylvan– and it seems to be the main issue with many– is the “corporate” aspect of the learning facility. I don’t believe school and business should collide any more than school and religion, but perhaps I’m an idealist.
Any information is helpful. Thank you. 🙂

But, after dropping out for the summer, I’m thinking of going back. Last year the teacher said she could not believe what a difference just the first month did for my daughters confidence and improved math / reading. The reading specialist in our school thought the tests Sylvan used were very comprehensive.
So while I’m still hesitant, we did have a great experience and I think it really benefited my child. I just really hate to spend that kind of money and not get one on one. But I can’t seem to find the right one on one tutor that provides the same results as Sylvan did.
Hope that helps.
