Does anyone do school work the old-fashioned way anymore?

I remember using the library and going through the big fat red periodical index books to find sources for my research papers. I remember using the typewriter to type up reports. The fancy typewriters let you erase the last few letters with auto-whiteout if you made a mistake. I remember using an 8-digit calculator with just the digits 0-9, a decimal, and the four basic math functions. Oh, and the on-off button, too. The computers were Apple II’s and they were in the lab; they weren’t wirelessly-connected laptops that I owned and kept with me. If you had to make a phone call, you used the phone in the staff room with permission.

Does this sound strange to you guys? Am I old?

I remember that. Except for the typewriters, that is. Did have computers to type with, but mine ran on good old Windows 3.0. Our school barely allowed Internet sources for research. For every web source, you had to have at least three or four hard-copy sources.

Certainly No, but the as u said thd old-fashioned way will be the strongest foundation for a greater tomorrow. Always hardwork pays. In my opinion, risk and reward goes together. Now-a-days people are enjoying the latest technologies, forgotten the hardwork. They want to do the work as simple as they can. Work hard, u will be rewarded in terms of education, money, career etc. etc. automatically.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Yes, you’re old, and so am I.

Technology is great, but I fear that the more we have, the more dependent upon it we get.
