no, i don’t think they do. honestly, not to brag, but i’m a smart person. i do well on all my tests, but i’d rather spend my time outside of class relaxing, not doing homework. so i don’t do homework. so i get c’s. my teachers KNOW i’m smart, as i tend to ace all the tests they give me, but they’re forced to give me a bad grade in the class because homework is made for people who need repetition to learn things, though homework is a joke and people who do all the homework don’t get good grades on the tests a lot of the time because they cheat on the homework and never learn anything. i think that homework shouldn’t be as big of a part of the grade as tests, though its usually 70% homework/30% tests in most classes i’ve taken. this in no way proves anything about actual knowledge and ability to do the material. if we were graded on ability to do what we’re supposed to do in the class, rather than ability to do busy work and copy off of people, i think our education systems would work a lot better and we would have a more educated country.

No, the answer is clearly no.

The school system is designed to teach kids go to college, learn a profession and get a safe secure job where you will eventually earn a pension for life. While this would have been proper advice for anybody born before 1930, this way of thinking is very outdated.

As you might know, it is becoming harder and harder to find security in a job. This is largely caused by the dismissal of the Industrial Era and the coming of the Information Era.

While the school systems are teaching this outdated information, they are doing very little in educating kids in the way of financial matters, which is ultimately the key to survival, right?

Generally no.

You have two routes in school: College Major or Study Hall Major.

Only 10% of the students even try for college and half of them drop out after the first year. So schools concentrate on 5% of the kids maximum and leave the other 95% generally behind.

Oh, if you pay attention you can read, write to a degree, do simple math. But there’s nothing pratical in that.

Another job of the schools is to keep young people out of the work force until around 18. This is to allow for older people to get jobs at McDonalds or K-Mart

Wah! purely wait until you’re contained in the working international and you need to be at artwork for 9+ hours an afternoon. then you certainly ought to artwork an entire 300 and sixty 5 days earlier you’re eligible for a holiday. purely wait until you need to artwork weekends. Or will ought to artwork swing shift 3-11:30 pm, or grave backyard shift 11 pm to 7 am. And all your pals would be working everyday jobs having the weekends off. And in case you do end college, you would be working at Micky D’s or Denny’s all your existence, smelling like greasy nutrition and residing from paycheck to paycheck.

It’s ineffective because our public schools are so restricted with what they’re allowed to do. They can’t force kids to learn, they can’t punish without being reprimanded by parents and they’re expected to work miracles with kids that are getting no help or motivation from home. School has become a daycare center for most kids.

you gotta be kidding, right ?

i mean you can see the results on the streets….

what’s the question ?

of course it’ll help having values at home and parents need to teach their kids manners as well as how to behave – not kill, injure, maime, destroy property and drugs/drinking ////
