For the eighth grade your main concern should be racking up those grades to get into advanced classes in high school. Those classes then appeal to the college admissions offices as an excellent student. Additionally, colleges tend to look slightly at the end of your sophomore year (10th) and extremely heavily on your Junior year (11th) and slightly on first quarter of senior (12th). Look at it this way. Freshman year (9th) is the year that you’re new and stupid and it’s the year you kinda play around and get used to high school so colleges don’t look at that. 10th grade is the year where you start liking people and not as much focused on your grades, but you’re more focused than you were as a freshman. Junior year is a time to buckle-down and get some work done. In the 11th, you take your SATs and ACTs or what not and really impress your teachers to get those recommendation letters. Senior year colleges know you’re gonna be hyped about graduating so they’re just worrying about you getting those applications done. Just take it all in with a stride and enjoy your education.

Colleges do not look @ middle school records but… 8th grade is really important because the classes and grades you get in 8th grade will be a factor in the level of classes you take for the rest of your HS years.

Example, if you do poorly in math in 8th grade, you’ll most likely not take a lower level math class for 9th graders and will not get to take AP math classes before college. 8th grade is REALLY IMPORTANT… take it seriously.

They do not look at those records, HOWEVER! You should start working harder. Do your best at everything, and ask for help. Also, when going to high school, take Honors or if your better take AP classes. Honors are the same as regular in my opinion. You will just have a essay or a project, else it just the same work. Goodluck, don’t take anything for granted.

Dude come on in case you acquire a C+ interior the 1st semester, yet then have been given an A- the 2nd semester interior an identical type, why might they probable evaluate the C+? it is an old score. besides, those are super instructions, yet what colleges especially do is, they throw out ALL electives instructions apart from distant places languages. They then tally up the honors, center instructions, and language instructions by using way of the letter grade you made in that type, and that’s your college score. colleges seek for Relevance & Rigor. which potential, they provide the impact of being for difficult instructions, especially honors, and throw out FFA, FLBA, NJROTC, that style of element. yet in interviews those electives could be an excellent component, through fact they tutor people skills. In end, the C+ won’t impression your college utility extensively. probable under no circumstances.

No–the only exception is if you take any classes for high school credit in middle school. Then the grades for those classes (and only those classes–your grades for other middle school classes won’t show up on your transcript) will appear on your transcript, along with all the stuff you take in 9th, 10th, 11th. and 12th grade.

However, this year is important, so you will want to get good grades. Your grades this year will determine whether you get into Honors classes in high school. High school honors classes will look very good on your college applications. Also, doing well in honors classes in high school will enable you to take AP classes, which look even better on your college application. Plus, you can earn college credit. But all of this is dependent on getting into honors classes in your 9th grade year. So naturally, you want to do well this year.

Technically, no, colleges won’t look at your 8th grades classes or scores. But if you do well in your 8th grade classes, you could get placed into better classes in 9th grade. Starting out in more advanced classes can look good to colleges, but it won’t hurt you much if you don’t.

You should always work hard, but don’t sweat it too much until you get into 9th grade. =)

Colleges don’t look at your grades, but any habits you set will carry into high school. Take the time to figure out your strengths so you can use them in the future. Set up good study habits that will serve you throughout your schooling. Good Luck! It’s awesome that you are looking forward already!

They don’t look at 8th grade, but doing better in school now will better prepare you for high school (which they DO look at). Middle school and high school are two totally different environments. Slack off now and suffer later.
