Classes in High School???!?

Ok, Im going to be a Freshman in High School in TWO Days! Im taking ALL advanced Classes and NONE of my friends are in those classes because they didnt qualify for them. So now im left all by my self in my classes with upperclassmen that i dont know and im scared to death about them. At my school the some of the upperclassmen are really rude by pushing the freshmen around because we are new the school. But we have these people called Contientals that help us and guide us freshmen through our year! the thing i am worried about never seeing my old friends because we have no classes together and im going to be loaded up with homework! And also not able to find my classes and get laughed at when i walk in late? Any one have advice for me ANYTHING will help

Don’t worry that much about the upper classmen. Honors students usually aren’t thugs, although they may be snobby because of the intellectual competition and maybe a little immature because they tend to be sheltered.

When I was in school, I took one “regular” class each year just to give myself a break from the terminal braniacs. Everyone thought I was crazy to waste the credits, but it’s funny, I learned more “life” skills from those classes (typing, cooking, family living, general science, etc.) than I did from the college prep courses. It didn’t really hold me back although I did take the scenic route through college (I would have done that anyway).

As far as your friends go, you will probably have two sets of friends and that’s ok, that’s what high school is for.

Relax, dude. You’re going to do perfectly fine.

First off, I recommend trying to find someone that has one or some classes with you….just a people that you know from middle school. Knowing that you’ll see a familiar face in your class will definitely make you feel better.

Second off, don’t stress about not seeing your friends in classes. You can still see them at lunch, and maybe in the halls. Try to make your friends join the same clubs and activites as you. Then, you’ll defeintly see them a lot.

Also, don’t be afraid of the Upperclassmen. Most of them are fine. Just stay away from the ones that you know for a fact that are rude. Most Upperclassmen want to get to know you and become your friend…..but, they might tease you time from time by calling you Freshmeat. =]

Good Luck!

First of all try to relax. You’re going to do fine. Secondly, go to the school before school starts and do some walk-throughs so you know where everything is. Thirdly, don’t stress about your friends. You’re going to have your locker close together (if they do locker assignments at your school by graduating class like they do at my school). You can see them between classes and at lunch. Then you’re still going to be doing after-school stuff together like shopping and going to school events. Abut the upperclassmen–MOST of them are nice people. If you’re getting hassled by someone tell somebody you can trust–a teacher or a principal or a pal,. And practically no one laughs when you walk in late the first few days. You’re going to be fine. Do what you can to make sure you know wht’s up before school starts, and then you’re money.

That’s awesome that you qualified for these classes. I know it will take a lot of guts to be in classes with upperclassmen. My advice to you is to be strong and try not to let them see you’re afraid or nervous. Act like you’re totally self-confident. As for your friends, that’ll be tough not seeing them as much, but the classes you’re taking will be of greater benefit to you when you’re trying to get into college. You can see them outside of school. Stay strong and focused and good luck!

Don’t be scared to become a freshman. It’s normal.Just choose the class that you think that is suitable to you.

you may met your friend outside if school.Even though they don’t attend the same class as you do,you can still see them. After a while, you may get use to alot of homework. And finding will be a smaller matter to you. Good Luck.
