I want to be homeschooled.. So i don’t have to wake up at 7 in the morning everyday and wait for the bus in the cold…

Yeah I was homeschooled. Just recently I finished high school. It took me two months. I am amazing. Simple as that.

I’m homeschooled and I love it! And now, my mother doesn’t have control issues. If anything she can be too laid back at times, but we do a mix of homeschooling and unschooling so that works for us. I’m not socially awkward… Unless you ask all those thuggish high-school drop-outs-to-be with the dark make-up and the black bondage clothing and the heavy “I want to kill someone or maybe just kill myself” rock and roll music or the sex-drug-money-obsessed rap music (I prefer to listen to the beatles with my boyfriend) and all the kids who get into that ridiculous high-school drama… I’d rather talk about REAL issues. Not the whole he-said, she-said, she did this, she spread this rumor, etc etc… or gossip about celebrities or american idol or any of that nonsense. No offense to any homeschoolers who like this stuff. It just isnt’ my cup of tea. I socialize with computer science majors, aspiring musicians, engineering majors, the well-read, the politically up-to-date, people who know how to debate, the open-minded, people who don’t believe everything they hear, people who are kind to others, people with a sense of humor, people who are blind like me, people who are sighted, people who are older than me, people who are younger than me, some my own age… Generally, I choose to be social with some people, and choose to let others do their own thing while I do mine.

And academically speaking… Homeschooling for the win!

Just because that someone is homeschooled dosen’t mean that they have problems.

Some of them grow up to be really smart!

My kids are homeschooled, I think they are amazing too, but not only because they are homeschooled.

I encourage you to get a dose of humility, and also to make sure you aren’t finding your self-worth in your homeschool status, because one day you will graduate.

Both my kids are home schooled, but I wouldn’t allow them to boast about being “amazing” even if they are to me. I don’t think being home schooled means being any better then public schoolers, I know some pretty cool kids who are in public school. Most them beg me to home school them as well. Your “coolness” won’t get you far in life, but being kind and respectful to others will.

To Sarah:

ALWAYS and NEVER are big statements. Apparently you have based your claim on one example that may or may not be being properly represented by you. My kids are involved in several community sports and clubs, church, dance, and my oldest even takes classes at the local high school where she has become quite the leader. A little research before you make uninformed comments would be nice.

Hmm…it shows.

Oh and yes, I’m 15 and have been unschooled all my life. Well, except for 5 weeks but being at school those 5 weeks was just the biggest waste of time imaginable. I’d have learnt more watching paint dry.

I am homeschooled and it rocks! You learn so much more, you can go to school in your pjs and count the M.A.S.H. show as educational (historical fiction, ha ha)
