Are you being properly educated ?

It seems everwhere you go these days young people working in shops turn to calculators to work out even the simplest mathematical deductions.

If you ask youngsters one the simplest maths question of all e’g…what’s 2,450? less 10% you geta blank look.

If you got a 10 pounds treble up on the horses or football at evens, 2/1 and 5/1 how long would it take you to work out your winnings?..The answer incidentally is 360 pounds (less tax) which took me all of 5 seconds to work out. The average 18 year old, if they have been educated properly, should be able to do it quicker than me. How do you rate?

I recently ask a NY High School girl what 0.1 of 10 was and she couldn’t answer me.

Her dad said use a calculator.

She also thought Denmark was a city.

I know what you mean! The maths teachers now (I would know being 15) They teach us percentage with calculators! When I started my job in River Island where you need too know they I was blanked and so embarrised!

The teachers are crap now ;l

I self teach myself at home after school!

Good Question 🙂

I use calculators a lot in math, but that’s only because I take AP statistics.
