Are teachers against technology?

I don’t understand.

I just took out my calculator in my school auditorium and my friends were playing with it.

Then this stupid gym teacher comes over and yells at us and tells me to put it away or they will confiscate it if they see it again.

I was in shocked because he’s confiscating a CALCULATOR.

So I’m just questioning whether or not teachers are against technology. I mean, he’d be in the justice team if he confiscated a game boy or psp, but he’s doing it for a calculator?

NO. Teachers are not against technology. They are however against students who do not pay attention, who do not follow the rules. The calculator would have been confiscated prpbably because he/she had given multiple instructions for you to follow that you didn’t hear or chose not to hear because you were busy doing something else.

What you kids don’t realise is that the ratio of kids to teacher is high, and teachers are responsible for all students. Kids think they’re just getting ‘picked’ on which is a load of cr@p.

You need to pay more attention in class, especially English class because your sentence said: “I was in shocked”… incorrect grammar. “I was in shock” or “I was shocked”.

teachers are not against technology

your friends took the calculator and were “playing” with it turned the calculator from a tool to a toy and toys are not allowed at school…distracting to the focus of the lesson…obviously you were not in the auditorium to play games with a calculator

Some calculators have games on it. It’s not that they are against it, but that they are against it when students are being oblivious to the surroundings (auditorium program speaker) and putting their eyes towards the game.

calculators have games on them now (atleast the ones you need in highschool and collage)

teachers dont care if your doing math or playing mario on your calculator they will make you put it away because you could be doing either. only if your doing math homework will they let you keep it out and in gym you shoulndt be doing math homework or playing galaga on your calculator so you will get it stolen i mean confiscated
