Any Tips For A Highschool Freshman?

Im really social and stuff, im not in a certain crowd cause i pretty much hang out with everyone. i guess im labeled as a prep, but i hate labels so i guess that shouldnt matter. im like a kind of B+/A student, but i struggle a lot in math. Any advice for the way i should act, words of wisdom or academic tips?

In my opinion, and a lot of people will disagree, you need a college education to ensure that you will even GET a job, let alone a good one. It’s important to prepare yourself academically also… and i know its easy to not pay attention in english class or to think that math is a joke… in high school, it is. But when you get to college you will have take writing classes and placement exams for things like math and english, and foreign languages. If you go to a university, thats expensive. If you can take those classes and u nderstand them now, you stand a chance at testing out of them, and not having to pay for them :). Most community colleges will allow you to earn credits as a senior in high school. That might help you learn what its like after high school.

As far as picking a college goes, go with the one that has a great program for what you want to do.

It doesn’t hurt to get involved in your community either. You never know… you may like it and that may influence the choices you make!

the greatest thing about highschool from middle school is the freedom and the teachers. In middle school the teachers are all grumpy and you’re treated like a child. in high school your treated more as an adult. ex. saying a cuss word in middle school meant suspension, not in high school. middle school boys will tell their friends to tell you that the want to “go out” with you. High school they’ll just tell you themselves. Girls typically dress alike in highschool, try to avoid that. You’ll find out who your friends are and hopefully you’ll find yourself. Have fun, but make good decisions: pay attention in class and try to at least pretend to like everyone and highschool can be the time of your life. a few things i wish i knew.

high school isnt so clicky as you may think. its not like what you see on tv.

if they dont know you, they just dont care.
