I am a preschool teacher and I wear comfortable, washable slacks with flats. They are usually cotton because I get really hot and like breathable fabric, but I have some acrylic/poly blends, too. I wear simple shirts and even have some embellished T’s. I think that when you pair them with slacks and flats they look dressy enough. Everything is breathable, washable, and I can move in it. If I wear a dress or skirt, they are always well past my knees. That way, I can still get on the floor or sit in those tiny chairs without worry.

I usually wear comfy dark coloured slacks that are easily washed and a material that will not rip as easy. Where I work crocs are okay but I opt for a flat tennis shoe. Generally to save my tshirts or other shirts, I will wear a nurses style shirt. The pockets are good for storing a pen or small toys plus they can come in some child friendly prints (Winnie the Pooh and Strawberry Shortcake).

You could wear scrubs like the nurses. You can get colorful tops with characters on them. They are very comfortable and you can wear comfortable tennis shoes with them as well. I am kindergarten teacher. I wear then at least three or four times a week.

Smocks are a great idea. They are comfortable, washable, have lots of pockets, and usually come in multi colors to hide all those paint and marker stains you get no matter how hard you try to stay clean. Comfy and stylish. More preschools should go to these, I love them.

Jeans and a colered shirt. Capris. No skirts because you sometimes walk over the kids.
