Any webpages or games and songs sites about Pirates?

I am organizing our preschool halloween party this year entitled: Kids Ahoy! Family Pirate Adventure! and I am looking for fun and fresh ideas in setting up our venue, setting up game booths and singing songs.

Pirate books I read to my class: Tough Boris, Dinosailors, When the Wild Pirates go Sailing, How I Became a Pirate.

Activities I do with my class when we are studying pirates:

Divide class in half. One half hides a treasure chest with treasure in it. They draw a map to the treasure, with “X marks the spot.” Then the other half must decipher the map to find the treasure.

Create pirate costumes using blankets and sheets.

Create a pirate telescope using paper towel roll, or binoculars using 2 toilet paper rolls.

Games: ring toss over the parrot: tie a parrot doll to a string and hang from ceiling. Catch the parrot by tossing a ring over it. (A fun variation on regular ring toss.)

Have children use a hook to try and get “treasure” from the water table. It could be links (just for fun) or real prizes like rings or bracelets.

Song: Three Dead Men on a Dead Man’s Chest

Yo ho ho and BOX OF JUICE DRINKS.

Sorry… I’m not a teacher, nor do I have children… but I ADORE the Veggie Tales Song, “The Pirates who Don’t do Anything.”

It’s adorable! The video is on Youtube, just search for it.

Good luck with your pirate party!

The Wiggles’ Captain Feathersword has a few silly songs, if you can find the DVDs of them…
