Any suggestions for snacks to offer 4-5 years old students that are healthy snacks??

i live in egypt and i am going to start teaching english here and i need to know lots of food items that i would use to reward my children that are healthy and wouldnt contain lots of sugar but would still be cheap to buy, easy to prepare, can remain fresh during school hours, and very enjoyable to them.

hope to find all the help i need…thanks.

if you have sites for kid-friendly easy to make recipes please add them too.

Lots of good answers, but dear stay away from peanut butter, some children are alergic to it, and if they are it can really harm them.

Something I have made with my kids is a mix, cheerios, golden grahams, raisins, pretzels. They really love it. Sometimes for fun I also add a few colored marshmallows.

It also depends if you have access to refrigeration but fruit kabobs are also great. Most of the fruit in the middle east is fairly reasonable just stay away from blueberries, raspberries and blackberry they will break the budget in a hurry!

If you can use a refrigerator or ice chest, you could fill celery sticks with peanut butter, or serve carrot sticks. Sunflower seeds don’t need to be kept cold. Raisins might be good, or whole grain crackers and peanut butter.

Dried fruit is great for them. And is convenient, doesnt need to be refrigerated or anything.
