Why does tracking confirmation numbers give inaccurate information?
Favorite Answer
Usually when a carrier scans a parcel at the delivery address it is either scanned DELIVERED or ATTEMPTED. (Unless the Delivery Confirmation label was illegible, there would not be a reason for the carrier to manually enter the number, it would be scanned by the IMD) It might be a better idea to ask the letter carrier if you can catch him. He may have a better recollection of the parcel than someone at the office. Try that first, if possible.
Did the sender remit to a incorrect address? Contact sender and ask to verify your address? The sender could have incorrectly written your address on the label / package. If they package is not picked up or refused it will be sent back to sender and then they can re-ship.
Use Federal Express ground. In case of address error it only takes a fax to redirect the package to correct address.
