Someone you are on good term with that is related in what ever field you are choosing and known you the longest
i mean come on if the person doesn’t like you what are the chances of them giving you a good reference at any point.

I would go with letter B. Friends can be tricky as references due to the fact that they will stumble around your faults and really try to talk you up. Not that those are bad things, but a professional in a related field will know the answers that the person is looking for.

The best reference comes from someone who has legitimacy like a teacher, minister, etc. and who knows you well. Depending on what the reference is for, you choose field or work area.
