Who do I address a cover letter to when I don’t know a directors name?
I’m applying for a new job in a new town at a daycare or preschool. I wanted to send out cover letters and resumes, but I don’t know who to address the cover letter to. I don’t know any of the directors and I don’t want to make a mistake that would keep them from considering me.

while you may address it to Human Resources or the Hiring Manager, it is considered to be more personal to address it to an actual person. It also makes it look like you did your research and are genuinely interested in that company. A quick phone call should answer any questions.

I would address it generally to the Human Recourse Department.

A little more personal would be “Dear Sirs and Madams” or “Dear Ladies and Gentlemen”
