I have a job shadow tomorrow with an accountant and I’m not sure what is supposed to happen or what I’m supposed to say or do. Also, am I supposed to dress proffesional? And are parents supposed to come? Oo

dress professional. don’t bring your parents unless they are requested to attend. just relax and be yourself, but expect to feel like you are being interviewed all day (if you have ever had an interview).

Pay attention to what the accountant says is expected of you. ask all the questions you want. I’m sure you will be fine. good luck.

Yes dress professionally as if you’re part of the staff there. Don’t bring the parents. You can bring them and introduce them to the accountant you’re shadowing but of course you have to act like an adult in this situation. Ask questions about the job, what’s the outlook on this job in the future, what type of schooling is needed, what are the options with an accounting degree…etc. If I were you, bring a notepad and take some notes. Before you go, think about why you’re going to this and maybe some questions will come up in your mind. Write them down and ask tomorrow.
