They are absolutely not allowed to tell your parents anything that you tell them in confidence. That is exactly their job – to be there for students to confide in and help them out should a need arise. You need to talk to someone? Go ahead and tell the counselor and for your own peace of mind mention to her/him that what you say in the office has to stay in the office and I’m sure they will reassure you that it won’t go any further.

They have no reason to tell your parents. So go ahead and before you tell them, just ask them to keep it a secret from your parents because you’re not ready for them to know yet. But eventually, you have to tell your parents sooner or later. You can’t keep that a secret your whole life, so the earlier you tell them, the more at ease you’ll feel with youself.

They are ethical bound NOT to say ANYTHING unless you are going to harm yourself others. Being a lesbian is not a harmful thing so you are in the clear! They should be able to help you out and point you in the right direction towards other people who know what you are going through.

there is not any way of understanding. How they interpret self assurance could ensure in the event that they felt they might, yet nevertheless supplies no clue in the event that they could. The question you may desire to evaluate is why you may tell a coaching councilor and if that individual knows, perchance your mom and dad could be counseled too. Now, i do no longer know the situations. i’m merely suggesting you think of it by.

If you are ready to tell go ahead and tell your parents before that way they wont be completely shocked when they find out later. If you are not ready don’t tell anyone.

good luck:P

Will they? Who knows.

Should they? Definitely not.

Everything with them is supposed to be confidential. Most of the time the rule is “If you tell me somebody is hurting you, you want to hurt yourself, or you want to hurt others, I must tell someone.” Something personal like that they should keep to themselves.

If they want to avoid a lawsuit, no. They are not allowed to tell your parents ANYTHING that you tell them.
