What shoud I say to my Mom?

I’m really sad right now, my mom’s getting rid of an backpack that’s been with me for a really long time, she’s going to give it to the Sally Ann. This particular bag has been with me from Grade 7-8, all through highschool, and all 5 years in college, plus one day of my 6th year in college, it holds so many memories, and I really don’t want it to leave my home. I just don’t know what to say to her that would make her understand. What’s yoru advice on this? I’ve only got one day. Please help me. πŸ™

I was picking through a storage garbage bag from the attic of some of my 18 year old sons old stuff toys and animals (since he was born) for our new puppy to play with. He quickly grabbed one and said “not this one, Grandma gave it to me”. Grandma had passed years earlier. I then asked if there were any others he’d like to keep and to my surprise there were about 5 more. I placed them back in the storage garbage bag and put them back up in the attic. I hadn’t stopped to consider these were not my things to get rid of and should have asked. I felt a little guilty! Just tell your Mom you’d like to keep it because it holds many memories. I’m sure she’ll understand like I did.
