What looks better on your grades?

What looks better on your High School grades for colleges? An A in a “normal” class, or a “B” in an AP or honors class?

I’m pretty sure it’s the former (“A” in a normal class) but I’m not completely sure.

The B looks better. A high grade in an AP or honors class always looks great.

If you take an honors class, your grade is automatically worth more because you had to work much harder to get it. By all means, take AP and honors classes if you can- they are far more respected.

The “B” in this case would be just as good (or better than) the “A.” Of course, if you can get an “A” in an AP class, that’s great too. ๐Ÿ™‚

In my opinion, when applying for college the more Honors classes you can display the more favorable the report. Your overall GPA is looked at of course too. There are a number of areas that are evaluated & added up in an equation that is different for each university. Extracurricular activities, community services, etc. are also taken into a consideration. Good luck!

My guidance counselor told me that a B in an AP or honors class speaks louder than an A in a “normal” class.

The work in the AP or honors class is harder and more is expected.

I would probaly say a B in an AP/Honors class. I dont know how it is in your school but in my old high school Ap courses make your GPA weighted so it made it higher,

I’ve heard this question asked at many college info sessions (UPenn, UMich, and WUSTL for sure, probably more), and the answer has ALWAYS been “an A in an AP or honors class” ๐Ÿ˜›

AP courses. By having an AP class it will raise your GPA scale.

I am sure an “A” in a normal class would look much better.
