That the way it is – points are taking away for asking questions. Points are given for answering questions and people can vote to give you the best answer and others can vote on whether or not they liked your response or not.

It is a great way to past the time away and if you know and answer or have an opinion to give it but as far as taking all of this literally, I would prefer to go to someone more personal and qualified, like for instance these questions on sex, pregnancy and if I am pregnant – I would ask my physician or go to a clinic to find out before asking.

All of this is a medium and some of the answer are funny and others show exactly where a person is some questions and answers are rude and prejudiced however this offers a medium in which you can express yourself and choose to be contacted or not by anyone.

So, have fun, let you hair down, and answer some questions or not…

TBH, the levels and points system seems REALLY pointless to me. I mean, what the hell is the point of having this quesiton cap, increasing it with levels, and voting on answers you like? Well, my theory is this :

1) The points system balances the community

Aka, you have to give as well as recieve, answering questions gets you points, and you can either level up or spend them on questions.

2) The cap is to stop pointless questions and spam

It helps cut down on when people ask the same question over and over, too. That’s dammned annoying.

3) The best answer system provides a greater reward for answering well, in incentive to not just give simple one-word answers, turns this whole thing into a kind of twisted competition.

Of course, if you don’t like it here, I recommend questionswap.

It’s just a tool Yahoo! uses to keep you coming back and using the site. It’s supposed to make you feel like you’re gaining something the more you use it, but logically, you’re not gaining anything.

For me it’s a nice break from work.
