What is the difference between IGETC and CSU General Education (GE) Breadth?
I’m confused. You can still qualify for an upper-division transfer if you do either right?

IGETC is a requirement for both UC and CSU transfers, however, UC has its own transfer requirement that IGETC covers. IGETC is also acceptable but if I were you I would complete a BREADTH requirement as this is generally for CSU.

I think the IGETC is for transferring to UC’s which include the foreign language requirements, and the GE (includes speech) is used for CSU’s. Both are lower division requirements for transfer students.

IGETC does not have the SPEECH class requirement. CSU general Education has the SPEECH class requirement. I did both I ended up only taking two classes extra.
