Frustration is when one’s efforts are met by resistance. Children are frustrated when they try a skill over and over again and can’t master it easily (think: tying your shoes). People are frustrated also when their efforts are blocked by other people (waiting for a parking spot and someone sneaks in before you), unappreciated (make a special meal for someone and they complain they want something different), or the results of their efforts fail (wash the floor and someone walks on it with muddy feet).
People are also frustrated when they can not be understood (think: trying to explain something complex to someone when they don’t speak your language).
