Problem solving is a mind set. You need to learn what makes you think best. I recommend doing the following activities that are fun:
Play chess.
Learn a new card game. Play online with other new beginners. I love pinochle.
Do sudoku puzzles or crosswords.
Try to be a helpful person. Usually generosity sparks team building.

I think you should start buying Maths assessment book and try practicing all the questions.If you work hard,you will improve.You can highlight the clues to the answers and you will figure out the method to do the question.
