it’s good to have a basic grasp of biology before the class – topics covered on the ap are molecules/cells, heredity/evolution, organisms/populations, etc. some knowledge of chemistry’s pretty helpful, too. i’ve found that understanding chemical processes helped in my class.

for the ap examination, visit the college board website for the format of the test -http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/sub_bio.html?biology

the books i used were from kaplan or princeton review, as i thought that barron’s sometimes had too much information for the amount of time that i had to prepare. ask you teacher for essay topics from previous years.

I would suggest buying the Barron’s AP Biology prep book. It explains what you will need to know and it will help you study for the AP in May. The book gives an overview of each chapter and the “dirty dozen” labs you will have free responses on. I studied using it and got a 4 on the test
