Any homemade treats that she couldn’t get at school; any clippings from the local newspaper that she’d be interested in, magazines that she would like, fun seasonal stuff like a candy-filled pumpkin.

Coming from a person who goes to boarding school, I would say anything homemade. I can’t speak for your sister’s school, but I know that the food at my school isn’t the best. Also, DVDs, CDs, and videos are really nice for those nights when you don’t have anything to do, which happen quite often. Hot chocolate, popcorn, ramen, anything that you can easily make is something that every student values.
Magazines, newspapers, cards, and anything that keeps you in touch with the outside world mean a lot too!
