Transferring to another college?

My senior year of high school, I applied to “college A” and got accepted (which is 2 miles away from my house), but currently attend “college B”. Right now I am in my sophomore year of college, and since depression has still been affecting my college experience and study habits, I would like to transfer to “college A”, possibly during the spring semester. Would I have to re-apply to “college A”, even though I already got accepted in spring 2006? Are there are circumstances that could prevent them from accepting me? Anything else I should know? Thanks in advance.

Yes you have to reapply, even if you were accepted last year. Since you turned them down, you have to reapply.

As long as your grades are higher than a C average, you should be fine.

The most annoying thing that will occur is that you’ll have to orientation with a bunch of freshmen. You know those annoying motivation lectures they give at orientation to boost the freshmen confidence? You’re lucky enough to have to listen to it…again.

I’m sure you will have to re-apply. It’s been too long since the first acceptance. Whether they accept you will probably depend on the grades you’ve been getting from college B. You won’t know till you try. I’d contact college A’s admissions office and find out what their rules are for transfer students (every school is different).

Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your depression. Yes, you will need to reapply, and yes there is a possibility that you will not be accepted due to changes in their academic policies and requirements. If your grades are good at your current college, then I would say that not being accepted is probably a slim chance, provided that you have all the required paperwork submitted by the earliest dates. Best of luck.
